Location: A Sub-Saharan African Country
2024 has been a catastrophic year for this nation, facing its worst drought in nearly 40 years. The power grid has been severely impacted, leading to escalating power outages. From the beginning of the year, some areas faced power outages lasting 4-6 hours daily, which escalated to 8-12 hours, and eventually to 18-20 hours a day nationwide (some regions even experienced continuous blackouts for 24-48 hours). The problem of electricity shortages has become increasingly severe.
With 90% of the country's electricity dependent on hydropower, last year's rainy season saw rainfall drop by half, drastically reducing river water levels. Four hydroelectric power plants were affected, plunging the country into an electricity crisis. By mid-September, after the country's electricity reserves were exhausted, the power outages intensified further, leaving the nation in a dire situation. In such dire circumstances, how do ordinary citizens cope?
Case Study 1:
CCTV Report on the Drought in This African Country in April 2024
Recently, we received an order from a customer in this country. During our conversation, he shared that power outages are frequent there, and electricity rates have surged from $0.09/kWh to $0.23/kWh. "Actually, whether the electricity rate goes up or down doesn't really matter because there is hardly any electricity available," he said helplessly.
With daily life and work severely disrupted by power outages, people are increasingly turning to self-generated electricity. "Blue Carbon is a well-known brand in our area, so we choose it to buy photovoltaic power generation equipment, which is also guaranteed," he explained.
Due to the trust and recognition of our brand in the local market, he reached out to us to purchase photovoltaic power generation and storage systems to power his household appliances.
Installation Photos
Installation List:
18 pieces of 550W photovoltaic panels
2 units of 48W-300Ah energy storage batteries
2 units of 6kW hybrid inverters
Daily Power Generation Capacity: 30kWh+
Installation Method: Hybrid System. The photovoltaic system with energy storage works together to power household loads. When solar power generation exceeds demand, the surplus energy is stored in the battery or sent to the grid. Conversely, when needed, energy can be released from the storage system or supplemented from the grid, enhancing flexibility and reliability of the power supply.
The customer's household daily electricity consumption is approximately 20kWh. With this setup, not only can their daily needs be met without paying electricity bills, but surplus energy can also be fed into the grid to generate additional income.
Based on the local electricity price of $0.23/kWh (approximately ¥1.6721/kWh):
Daily earnings from surplus energy fed into the grid:
$0.23/kWh × 10kWh = $2.3 ≈ ¥16.72
Annual earnings:
¥16.72 × 365 days = ¥6103.24
Earnings over 10 years (system lifespan may vary; we provide a 5-year warranty):
¥6103.24 × 10 years = ¥61,032.38
Savings on electricity costs over 10 years:
¥1.6721/kWh × 20kWh × 365 days × 10 years = ¥122,063.30
This far exceeds the installation cost, even at current electricity prices (subject to future changes).
Comparison with Other Mainstream Household Power Generation Methods:
Diesel Generator Costs: $0.35/kWh ≈ ¥2.35/kWh
Photovoltaic Power Generation Costs: ¥1.5/kWh
Photovoltaics clearly provide a more cost-effective and sustainable solution compared to diesel generators.

This customer owns an unused property and plans to rent it out to generate additional family income. The property is fully equipped with lighting, a TV, air conditioning, a water heater, and other household appliances. However, frequent power outages pose a major obstacle-after all, a rental property with no electricity is hard to attract tenants.
Fortunately, he found a perfect solution: photovoltaic power generation. Solar power is easy to install and provides long-term benefits after a one-time investment. The energy source-sunlight-is abundant, requiring no significant labor or material costs. Plus, it's eco-friendly and noise-free (an especially important factor). All it takes is a short installation process.
Before long, his solar system arrived. The installation was fully handled by professional technicians who also provided detailed usage guidance. Now, all he has to do is rent out the property. (PS: Given the national electricity shortage, his solar-powered property stands out as highly competitive and in great demand!)
Thanks to this solution, he can now earn a steady monthly income from his rental property.
